FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  1. HOW DO YOU CHARGE?

We charge by the square foot. It is the fairest way possible for you, the client. Many companies charge by the room, but every room is different so we simply charge you for the amount of carpet you have. When we come to your home, we will measure exactly how much carpet you have to be cleaned. After our initial visit, we’ll keep your measurements in our records so we won’t have to measure again unless your rooms change.

  2. HOW WET ARE THE CARPETS AFTER CLEANING?

Normally your carpets will be “damp” after deep extraction cleaning or otherwise referred to as steam cleaning. When we leave, the carpet can be almost dry to up to 8 hours to completely dry depending on the weather, the air flow in your home and if you chose a Scotchgard Protection treatment. For faster drying we often put an air mover on to speed dry busy areas while we clean up at the end of the job. Consult your technician on what options you have for the fastest possible drying time in your home.

  3. WHY CAN’T I JUST RENT A MACHINE AT THE STORE & CLEAN THE CARPET MYSELF?

This is a valid option for you to consider. Before you choose this option, please consider some important items regarding your carpet. First of all, different carpets are made of different fibers, and our technicians are all trained on how to test this before cleaning. If you do decide to rent a machine, make sure you are familiar with the chemicals you’ll be using so they won’t damage your carpet or void your warranty. Secondly, the majority of rental machines do not heat the water they use very well. In fact, bacteria is not killed until the water is at least 130 degrees. Our unit heats the water to almost 250 degrees, giving you the most thorough cleaning.

Last of all, the suction on most rental machines are not satisfactory for the amount of solution they put down. As a result, too much water and solution residue is left on your carpet, which actually ends up attracting new dirt. Imagine washing your hair and not rinsing out all the shampoo! The same idea applies to your carpet. Please feel free to call us with any more questions you may have on this topic.

  4. HOW LONG SHOULD I WAIT BETWEEN CLEANINGS?

We normally tell people once a year. Most carpet installers will tell you about every year and a half. You as the homeowner must take some items into consideration before deciding on your carpet cleaning frequency. First of all, do you have any pets? Secondly, does anyone in your home have any allergies or breathing problems? Thirdly, what type of fiber is your carpet? Finally, how many people live in your home? If anyone in your home has allergies, it is recommended to get your carpets cleaned at least every 6 months. The same six month time frame would apply for homes with pets, children and smokers. And keep in mind, most warranties require professional steam cleaning at least annually.

Also keep in mind, when your pants get dirty, do you just brush them off & wear them again? Possibly, for a time. But after a short while, you put them in the washing machine with soap and hot water because you want to know they are clean.
Think about your carpet getting dirty. You can just keep “brushing the dirt off” but don’t you think you ought to put it through the “washing machine?”

  5. WHY IS YOUR PRICE SO MUCH HIGHER THAN THE ADS I SEE IN THE PAPER?

Our price is considerably higher than many of our competitors and many of our current clients felt that way at one time. But what so many of our clients have found is that “you get what you pay for!” With us, we feel this slogan is true. We give you more value for the dollar time and time again. We know once you’ve tried our service, you’ll see the difference. If you don’t feel our services are worth the money, we’ll come back and do it again for FREE-no questions asked!

If you are looking for a company that concentrates on quality and value, we are the company for you. If price is your main concern, we are probably not the company for you.

  6. I HAVE PETS THAT HAVE OCCASIONAL ACCIDENTS. IS THERE ANYTHING YOU CAN DO FOR THE ODORS AND STAINS?

We specialize in the removal of pet stains and odors. As long as the carpet dye has not been changed, there are a variety of ways we are trained to deal with these annoying stains and odors. Upon inspection, your technician will be able to give you an idea of the degree of restoration possible and some options for you to choose from. (Please check our page on pet odor/stain removal).

  7. DO I HAVE TO MOVE THE FURNITURE?

You have several options when it comes to the furniture- from moving all of it to just having the traffic lanes cleaned. Furniture that we move for you will be put back to its original place and put on plastic tabs to protect the furniture and the damp carpet until it is dry. We move some of your furniture as part of our process and may have a small charge for unusual amounts of furniture or very difficult/heavy furniture.

Some things we do not typically move include entertainment centers, electronics of any kind, sofa-beds, china cabinets, grandfather clocks, regular beds, and anything else that we feel is too unsafe or large to handle. Please warn your technician about any loose legs or loose tops, etc. before he moves your furniture.
